I was updating my blog last week and I noticed that I was getting a lot of traffic from Pinterest for a download for LDS Apostle flash cards. These were made almost two years ago and are not cute, but I have them in my church bag and we use them often. Bare-bones, basic, informational. Just not very fun.
I was a little surprised that people were still interested since they aren't that great to look at. I was sure somebody had come up with something better since then. Evidently not, since a internet search yielded photos of cards much worse than my old ones.
I can do better. Let me show you.
I received my cards in the mail today and they turned out so great.
The paper is nice and thick and I'm thrilled! Because you get a box of fifty cards, I ordered two sets of the flash cards (they could be a match game, I guess) and then made some ancestor flash cards to fill the rest of the order. They're cute too. See?

Ta Da!
Here's another
I have two downloads available for you, depending on your choice of printing. If you just want to print them at Kinkos (I know that's not their name anymore, but that's what I call them) or at home, You can download pages and cut the cards out. I suggest you laminate them, if you choose this option.
However...
Since there's time, and since I love MOO Printing, I have a file of individual cards in moo's business card size. These will not fit standard American sized business cards. I just wanted to let you know that before you were disappointed when your cards came back from your printer and they looked all wrong. It could happen. If, by chance you have a local printer that will make European size (84mm x 55mm) business cards for you, then you can do that too. I still recommend MOO. Their paper is amazing and the print quality fabulous. Since MOO cards are double sided, there is also a separate image for the backs of your cards.
I hope you love my flash cards! I love them more than the last ones, but that's not difficult.
Here are the download links:

Did you print your cards at home or use MOO? Did they turn out?

These are beautiful! Thank you so much! And thanks for the tip on MOO Printing. Totally going to use them.
ReplyDeleteI should add that I googled Moo promo code and it brought up a link for 50% off for new customers, which meant a pack of 50 cards was only 9.99 (11.99 with rounded corners) plus shipping.
ReplyDeleteSeriously, where did you find that code?
DeleteI just googled and found it here: http://coupons.tjoos.com/Coupon/99048/MOO
DeleteThough I don't see it there now. Now it says a free 50 pack of cards if you order something else. It does list a promo code there for 15% off, but I know, not as good as 50%. It had a 5 letter promo code in my MOO shopping cart as I checked out, but as I go back through my receipt and everything now I can't find it. I wish I had written it down! As soon as I placed my order I couldn't find the code on my order form, and the original was just a link that I clicked on, rather than a code I input myself. It was in the very top results of the link above, under the green bar in the ads sponsored by Google. Maybe it doesn't show up for me anymore because I'm not a new customer anymore! If I find it I will definitely come back and post it here!
Thanks! I just ordered some more.
DeleteThey also sell a hard carrying case that holds 15 cards (perfect!). I think it will hold a set of these cards in my family's Sunday bag.
ReplyDeleteCan you tell I'm excited about this? You just made it so easy. Thanks again.
Whitney, that 50% off is a crazy good deal! You totally won't regret having them printed there. I made some family history flash cards through MOO and they've been in my church bag for two years and still looking great, even though they're not in a box, just wrapped in a rubber band. I'm so excited that you love the cards!
DeleteBelinda: Thank you!!! These are so great, my kids will love looking at them.
ReplyDeleteThanks, LoriLou! I want learning about the gospel to be fun!
DeleteI just printed mine off on my computer and they look great! Thanks!
ReplyDeleteYay! And thanks for the mention on your cute blog. You found some seriously fun conference stuff.
